Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and allies retained Tripura and Nagaland, and will be forming the government in Meghalaya with the ruling National People's Party seeking support for majority.
Meghalaya
-The National People's Party (NPP) felt short by five seats to touch the magic figure in the 60-member assembly in Meghalaya.
The party got 26 seats, while the BJP managed to win 3 seats.
Meghalaya Chief Minister Conard Sangma, after falling short of majority, called Union Home Minister Amit Shah for support to form a government in the state. -This was the first time that the BJP fought on all 60 seats in Meghalaya.

Nagaland
In Nagaland, the BJP and its coalitiori partner, the NDPP, have gained a comfortable victory, as was predicted by several exit polls.
- The alliance crossed the majority mark of 31 seats after BJP-NDPP contested on a 20:40 seat-sharing arrangement.
-The primary contest was between the NDPP and BJP alliance against the NPF (Naga People's Front).
-However, NPF fielded 22 candidates while Congress contested 23 constituencies.

-Result: NDPP+ BJP 39, NCP 7, NPF 2, Others 12
Two Women MLA's for the First Time
-Nagaland created history by electing two women candidates to its assembly Salhoutuonuo Kruse and Hekani Jakhalu.
-This is the first time Nagaland has elected a woman MLA since its creation in 1963.
Both candidates are from the ruling Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP).
- Kruse won from the Western Angami AC and Jakhalu from the Dimapur -III constituency.
Tripura:
-The BJP is all set to form a new government in Tripura for the second straight term.
-Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha has successfully led the BJP in its efforts to retain power in the state, with the party beating anti-incumbency and the emergence of TIPRA Motha to cross the majority mark and bag 32 seats.
-The CM himself won from the constituency of Town Bardowali by 1257 votes.
- Tipra Motha Party (TMP) , which for the first time contested 42 seats on its own, emerged as the second largest party securing 13 seats.
-The CPI-M won 11 seats while the Congress bagged three.
